Characterization and Design of the “Banknotes and Coins” Section

As part of my work on the Bank of Israel website, I was responsible for the characterization and design of additional dedicated pages, including the “Banknotes and Coins” section, which serves as a central source of information for the general public on legal tender.

The characterization process focused on creating a clear and accessible information hierarchy, enabling intuitive navigation between different content types: information about existing banknotes and coins, their design, security features, public guidelines, and relevant updates. Emphasis was placed on clarity, accuracy, and simplicity, in alignment with the high standards of an official institutional website.

The visual design followed the Bank of Israel’s brand language, maintaining a clean, restrained, and trustworthy appearance. Careful use of readable typography, well-structured layouts, and consistent content patterns supported ease of information consumption and an optimal user experience across all devices.

This work combined in-depth UX thinking with precise UI design, reflecting an understanding of the diverse audiences the site serves and the need to balance content depth, accessibility, and usability.
